Šibenik is situated in a picturesque and indented bay in which flows the Krka River. The insular part consists of 242 islands, islets and above-sea reefs. The most significant cultural and historic monument is the Cathedral of St. Jakov which dates back to the 15th – 16th century and is on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
